The FHCAMD Senior Game has been a long-standing tradition—so long, in fact, that some current board members once participated as players when they were seniors themselves. Each member school is invited to send one senior from its program to represent their team in this annual showcase. The game is held each November and serves as a meaningful way to celebrate and highlight the achievements of the region’s graduating athletes.
Susan Pusey coached at Pocomoke High School for over 20 years and during that time won 16 public school state championships — the second-most state titles won by a single coach in Maryland history. She passed away suddenly in 2015 after complications from surgery. She was a founding member of FHCAMD and had a major impact on the growth of field hockey across the state.
After her death, the association named the Senior Game event in her memory to carry on her legacy and the association's mission to grow the game of field hockey in the state of Maryland.
The Susan Pusey Senior Game is a great opportunity for graduating seniors to come together one final time and celebrate the end of their high school field hockey careers. The event allows players to finish off their seasons competing alongside and against some of the top seniors from across the state in a fun and memorable atmosphere.
As FHCAMD has grown to include more programs, the need arose to host more than one game. With annual membership steadily over 100, the All-Star game is now a collection of six different teams playing in three different games to ensure all participants get ample time on the field.
